Synopsis:
The film follows Laras and her husband, Radit, as they visit his dying father,Syamsul, after years of estrangement. At Syamsul's decrepit ancestral home,Laras has chilling encounters with the spirit of a woman named Randasura. It's revealed that Syamsul made a pact with Randasura, a demon, for power and wealth. Now Randasura wants Radit to take his father's place. When Laras gets marked for sacrifice with the symbol of a full moon, she destroys Randasura's power source - a ruby amulet. But this act unintentionally sets the demon free.

In the early 2000s, a poor widow from coastal Java seeking medicine for her mute son and an education for her daughter is smuggled to Northern Australia, where she is trapped in debt bondage, farm labor by day, prostitution by night until a killing in self-defense, lands her in prison, haunted forever by her son’s dying word “Mama”.
Synopsis:
After witnessing her husband murdered by debt collectors, Sari, a Minang woman in rural East Java, loses her home and livelihood. With no choice, she accepts a job offer in Australia, promising her daughter an education and her mute son medication to help him speak.
Smuggled with false documents, she is rejected by a brothel for being “too old” and sold to a remote fruit farm. By day she labors in the orchards, by night she is forced into cheap motels as a call worker. Her only solace is Marni, an older Javanese woman trapped there for decades, a fragile friend and a chilling vision of Sari’s future.
When Sari kills a violent client in self-defense, she is imprisoned, condemned as a criminal before a victim. From behind bars comes the final blow,her mute son utters his first and only word before dying. A single word that will haunt Sari forever “Mama.”
